On Friday BofA said We expect the Fed to stay on hold for now and start a gradual cutting cycle in December which will depend on a moderation in the inflation data. The economy may be cooling, but it is not cool.

As Bond yields continue to rise, big bucks will move to guaranteed 5.25 rather than a 3 month horizontal trading channel.

w 0 w.....The Copper Recession Theory, often referred to as "Doctor Copper", refers to using the price of copper as an economic indicator to predict the state of the global economy. This is based on the observation that the price of copper tends to correlate strongly with business cycles. Copper is an essential base metal in various industries, including construction, electronics and machinery, meaning that demand for copper often reflects the level of economic activity. How the Copper Theory Works Leading Indicator: Copper is considered a leading indicator because its price fluctuations tend to precede changes in economic activity. For example, an increase in the price of copper may suggest an increase in industrial demand and therefore future economic expansion. Price Decline: A significant drop in the price of copper may indicate a reduction in demand from key economic sectors, suggesting a possible recession. This is because firms reduce production in anticipation of lower demand. The advantages of the Theory Simplicity: The price of copper is easy to monitor and provides a quick indication of the state of the economy. Global Relevance: Copper is widely used in the global economy, making it a relevant indicator of international economic activity. Example of Application During the global recession of 2008, the price of copper fell dramatically before most economic indicators fully reflected the economic crisis. Subsequently, as economies began to recover, the price of copper began to rise before most other economic indicators showed signs of recovery. In conclusion, the copper theory of recession is a useful tool to assess and anticipate changes in global economic activity
